Farah Dagogo, the detained governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rivers State, was reportedly absent in court on Monday May 9.
Femi Adegbite, Dagogo’s lawyer, had earlier applied for motion on bail at the Magistrates Court, but was opposed by the prosecution counsel.
When the matter was called by Chief Magistrates Amadi Nna, he was informed by the lawyer to the Rivers State Government, Chidi Eke, that fresh information has been filed at the State High Court.
The police did not give any reason for the absence of Dagogo who represents Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The Chief Magistrates Nna adjourned the case to May 23 for mention.
Farah Dagogo was arrested on Thursday April 28, 2022 at the venue of the PDP screening for governorship aspirants in Rivers State.
His detention followed an arrest warrant issued by Governor Nyesom Wike over an alleged disruption of the screening exercise for house of assembly aspirants a day earlier.
