The lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Farah Dagogo has reportedly been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command.
This was revealed by Rivers journalist, Martha Okere.
According to Martha, the People’s Democratic Party governorship hopeful was arrested at the screening venue for aspirants.
“Farah Dagogo has been arrested at the PDP governorship screening venue,” she wrote on her Facebook wall.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Governor Nyesom Wike had declared Dagogo wanted over an alleged disruption of screening exercise on Wednesday.
Wike particularly ordered for the arrest of the lawmaker for using cultists to invade the screening venue.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Wike said some of the hoodlums sent by the lawmaker were arrested by the police.
However, Dagogo’s camp had described the governor’s order as an attempt to prevent the aspirant from partaking in the governorship screening exercise on Thursday.
The police nor the Rivers State Government were yet to comment on the arrest of Farah Dagogo as of press time.
