BREAKING: Nigeria’s Former Senate President Joseph Wayas is Dead

Joseph Wayas, a former Senate President of Nigeria during the Second Republic has died.

Wayas died aged 80 in a London hospital.

Born in Basang, Obudu, Cross River State on May 21, 1941, he attended Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha before going to the United Kingdom to study at the Higher Tottenham Technical College, London.

He also attended the West Bromwich College of Commerce, Science and Technology, Birmingham and Aston University, Birmingham.

Joseph Wayas was a founding member of the now-defunct All People’s Party, but later joined the People’s Democratic Party in 2002.
