A man simply identified as John is currently on the run after masterminding the rape and gang assault of his 16-year-old daughter.
According to report, the mother of the girl had separated from the suspect for over ten years.
It was learnt the suspect who is from Agidiehe quarters accosted the victim on the road while on an errand for her mother and accused her of stealing his money. Meanwhile he had earlier gone to her mothers house to beat her up.
The man was said to have dragged the daughter into his house where he allegedly arranged for some boys to beat her up before the suspects who are also at large allegedly took their turns raping her.
The girl was rescued by some persons in the neighbourhood who broke into the apartment and rushed her to the state hospital in Ogwashi Uku where she is currently receiving treatment.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday April 20, said it was the mother of the girl that reported the matter to the police.

Meanwhile, popular Human Rights Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu had also confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, adding that pictures of the victim are too bad to share.
“My mother had sent me to her sister to tell her how my father beat her and it was on my way that my father met me and took me to the house and locked me inside where the boys inflicted wounds and he, my father shaved my hair,” the girl was quoted as saying.
