Oyo State government on Thursday condemned a planned protest against it by some teachers, warning that any teacher who embarks on protest would be dealt with.

The teachers disclosed they were planning to protest over the alleged non-payment of leave bonuses by the state government.

But, the state government claimed it has paid leave bonuses to all the teachers,

Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, who reacted on behalf of the state government, insisted no teacher in the state was being owed the year 2020 leave bonus.

According to Adeniran, “Some political emissaries are going about, telling people that the government is owing them 2020 annual leave arrears and that the government is not taking it seriously. But this is not true. It is incorrect”.
