A special police unit fighting to kidnap, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), has arrested a housewife who supplies women to bandits at the Galadimawa forest in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Maryam Abubakar, a resident of Rugar Hanwa in Sabon Gari Local Government, was arrested on December 21, and confessed to luring women, including her own daughters and nieces, to bandits for sexual pleasure.
The suspect said the bandits paid her a minimum of N20,000 and ferried the women to the forest on motorbikes.
Fatima Jibril, alongside her boyfriend, Muslim Abubakar, of Sakadadi area in Sabon Gari, were also accused of supplying women to the bandits.
The affairs of the syndicate were exposed when girls some of the girls they supplied to the bandits in the forest didn’t return.
Another mother, Jummai Ibrahim, was also arrested for allegedly having an affair with a kingpin of the bandits.
According to Ibrahim, she gave herself to the bandits’ kingpin in a bid to protect her father and children from the wrath of the bandits, who she claimed threatened to kill them, even after they had rustled the family’s cattle.
Some of the pleasure-giving women said they had only passed a single night with the bandits, and that the gunmen live with their wives, but are hosted at different locations separate from their families.
The arrested women were, however, remorseful for being in a romance with the bandits in the forest.
